Why AirTel
Our LBS (Location Based Service) platform www.sattracx.com gets the GPS location of the phone when the phone is open to sky, as a virtue, GPS signals cannot be received when the GPS devices ( for example Child Phone) are in concealed condition, say for example inside of a home or school, In this situation, the server application gets the mobile cell tower parameters from the child phone and derives the location. By far we have the highest database of cell towers of AirTel service provider. Our enthusiasm to suggest AirTel provider is to give you the location each time and every time when GPS signals are weak.
3.

I was told that there are three ways to track the child phone a) Through Web b) Through SMS c) Phone IVR. Can you elaborate?
a) Location finding through web
Once the child phone is configured ( by our support executive) , you should go to www.sattracx.com, select the Child Phone icon and log into the system by giving your email & password information. Once logged in you would be presented with an intuitive user interface to track your child mobile.
b) Finding Location through SMS.
Send and SMS in the following format from you’re mobile to 5499964
Phone child phone number 4 digit passcode
For example: phone96186334561234
You would get the Child Phone location information as SMS in your mobile.
c) Calling an IVR Number 040-44250556 from your mobile number
When you call our IVR (Interactive Voice Response) Number 040-44250556 you will be asked to provide the tracker (child phone) number with passcode. Once given, you would get location information as an SMS.
7.
Can you feed landline numbers as the one of the authorized numbers?
Yes you can. (with STD code prefixed, as stored in Mobiles)
8.
Can I change the 4 Authorized numbers that have been configured to 4 keys or the SOS number configured to the SOS Key?
Yes . You need to give the details of the New Authorized numbers to us to configure your child phone. Please note that this information can be changed at any time. You can just call our call center and ask to change the configuration. We will change the configuration for you, as many times as you wish.
9.
I got a 4 digit pass code as an SMS to my mobile phone, what is this?
Keep this pass code safely. Our support center would identify the authorized person only by this pass code. You will need this pass code to track the SatGuide™ child phone from Web/SMS/Call ( IVR) or for your needs to change the child phone configuration settings.
10.
What is the Geo fence, how I can apply this to my child phone and what actually are its benefits.
Geo fence is a very powerful feature which gives you a geographic control on the child phone. With this feature you can setup virtual geographic fences or boundaries for the child phone. This means that you can create these boundaries which you authorize as safe places; for example, say home, school and other safe areas which you approve. Once the child phone moves out of these areas you would get an immediate SMS alert that the geo fence you have set up has been breached. You would also get alerts when ever the child phone again re enters your approved geographic geo fence. You have the power of information about the movement of the child phone so that you can take appropriate actions.
Our support center executive will be able to apply these geo fences for you. A maximum of 4 distinct geo fences can be applied. You only need to tell the geographic area to be geo fenced, for example Friends colony in New Delhi can be your geo fence area for the child phone. You would get alert when ever the child phone moves in and out of this area.
11.
Does the SatGuide™ child phone work in roaming.
Yes it works. The additional charges during Roaming levied by the carrier is just like what you have with the any other Mobile phone.
12.
Should I use a post paid connection or prepaid connection? Does the connection needs GPRS services.
The phone and tracking features work in both prepaid and post paid connections. Always ensure that you have adequate charge balance if it’s a prepaid connection. You will not be able to get location messages if you do not have active and working connection. GPRS is Not required for Tracking the Child phone.
13.
What are the charges for using the child phone tracking services in its entirety? Any there any hidden charges?
The charges of the SIM/mobile number depnds upon the package you choose with the mobile carrier service provider, for example AirTel, exactly same as you do with any other mobile connection.
The tracking subscription charges are Rs 499 for a year. Tracking is limited to what we call as 100 pings or requests. In other words, you can request the location of the child phone for 100 times through the web. If you consume these requests early before the completion of a year, you need to buy more vouchers; as simple as that. The credits (pings) are not carried forward if you have not consumed 100 requests. Every time you ping/demand your child phone to yield a location (either through web/SMS/ IVR call), your child phone consumes one SMS, this is because it (child phone) has to send the location information through an SMS to the server.
If you want to demand location through SMS mode, (that is sending SMS in following for mat) : Phone child phone number 4 digit passcode to 5499964, each SMS costs Rs 3.
There are no costs involved if you call our IVR number 040-44250556 and demand location. However purchase of Rs 499 yearly subscription is mandatory.
14.
I don’t have a credit card, or I do not want to purchase tracking subscription voucher for Rs 499 online. How do I purchase the tracking subscription voucher in this scenario?
You can deposit the money in any of the banks favoring our corporate ICICI bank account Number 000805004394 Khairatabad Branch, Hyderabad On SatNav Technologies Pvt Ltd. and inform our customer support executive for compliance.
15.
Can I schedule tracking my child phone, that means, I want a location SMS, every hour from say 9 AM to 5 PM every day.
Yes you can.
16.
But does this schedule tracking increase my pings/requests so that I will expend all my credits which I brought through a subscription for a year by paying Rs 499.
You are right; you will expend the credits faster. If you have a serious requirement to track your child phone in very short intervals, let us know your requirements, we will be able to define a cost effective custom tariff tailored very specific to you.
17.
Is there any restriction on incoming calls, I mean does the child phone receive calls originated from any number.
Yes, there is no restriction on incoming calls.
18.
Do we have any other ring tone other than the standard one which is currently there with the Child phone.
No, there is no option of changing the ring tone. In idle state, keep pressing the Volume – Key for 3 seconds to switch between normal and silent state.
19.
What is this SOS key. What does it do, what are its benefits
SOS, is a commonly used description for Distress Communication. Pressing and holding this button by the child, for 3 seconds will initiate a voice call to the configured SOS number and simultaneously an SMS is sent to the authorized phone with location information so that appropriate action can be initiated.
20.
What is the Fake Power Off function? What are its benefits?
When the Phone is in OFF (voluntarily / inadvertently) mode and Fake power off feature, when configured, the device will appear to be shut off and dead. It will not show any outward signs of being active, like glowing of battery/GPS or GSM LED. You cannot make a call from the child phone, however when an SOS button is pressed from the child phone you will get the location information to the authorized mobile. When you call to the child phone, the call automatically gets connected with its receiver ON, so that you can hear the surrounding of the child phone. When switched ON all the features are again restored. We strongly recommend that you have this feature configured as a standard configuration, so that you still have the control of the child phone if the child voluntarily switches off the child phone. The above feature will NOT FUNCTION if the Child phone battery has totally drained off.
21.
What is Fake Ghost function?
Fake ghost function configuration can be initiated from our support center upon your request, this function technically shuts of all the calling functions of the child phone, and yet gives the facility to track and voice monitor the activities surrounding the child phone. The device will appear to be shut off and dead. It will not show any outward signs of being active, like glowing of battery/GPS or GSM LED. The feature will be useful when there is strong objection by school authorities on carrying a phone inside the school. Child cannot initiate a call; however you have control on the situation and location.
22.

I was told about the lost mobile function in the child phone, elaborate a bit.
When configured, when ever there is a change in the SIM of the Child Mobile, our server would record this information, The information can be provided to the authorized user However, we will only record IMSI
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Mobile_Subscriber_Identity ) number, which you should take up with the law enforcement authorities to identify the new user of the child phone. SatNav does not take any responsibility of finding out the lost child phone.
